This handbag, made of Chirimen fabrics, is called "Sukiya bukuro"in Japanese, and traditionnally used by women for tea celemony.
A Chirimen (crepe fabric) is a textile which has small crimps made by twisting threads on the surface of the fabric. Weaving the weft of raw silk thread, which is twisted tightly, creates uneven texture on the fabric. Silk Chirimen is mostly used for kimonos. Our chirimen items are made of traditional polyester chirimen for daily use and for easy care.
