Tenugui is a rectangular hand dyed fabric made of cotton.
It dated back to Nara period (8th century) and became extremely popular in Japan recently as it is traditional yet creative.We have about 50 patterns available.

How to Use
There are various usages of Tenugui.
All our Tenugui are dyed by hand. The color will hence fade the first times they are washed.
For long lasting use of Tenugui,
Please wash by hand with plenty of water. Please do not use washing ditergent or hot water.
Do not expose Tenugui to the direct sunlight.
Our Tenugui are hemmed for you!!
Traditionally in Japan, both ends of any new Tenugui are cut rather than hemmed in order to dry quickly and evenly. Therefore new Tenugui has frays on both ends up to 10mm long. However, we have received many requests from our European customers who wish to buy an already hemmed Tenugui. So now, all of our Tenugui is beautifully hemmed for you!!
